Between 22 and 6 o'clock nobody is there. A bed-exit sensor closes this gap without waking anyone.
During the day, the home care service comes, the daughter calls, the neighbour drops by. Between 22 and 6 o'clock nobody is there – and that is exactly when the falls, the wandering and the leaving of the flat happen.
A bed-exit alarm (also called a bed-leaving sensor) closes this gap without waking anyone. It detects that the bed has been left and alerts you if it stays empty for longer than 20 minutes. A quick trip to the toilet therefore triggers nothing – night-time wandering does.
Alert if the bed stays empty for longer than 20 minutes. Severity yellow: check, don't raise the alarm.
Alert after 15 minutes. Shows whether someone has left the flat or just aired the room.
Red alert, immediately. No button press needed – see fall sensor.
All thresholds are adjustable. The values given are the system defaults.
“She often gets up at night” is a claim in the assessment interview. “In the last 14 nights 31 alerts, 9 of them longer than an hour” is a finding. The difference decides Module 3 – and Module 3 shares a weighting of 15 per cent with Module 2.
How to use this together with the care diary is explained under Preparing for the assessment.
A sensor that detects when someone leaves the bed and does not return. It thus distinguishes a normal trip to the toilet from a situation in which someone stays up and about at night or has fallen.
By default after 20 minutes. The value can be adjusted – too short causes false alarms during normal trips to the toilet, too long defeats the purpose.
No. The sensor measures movement; it makes no sound and no light. The alert goes to the app, not to the room.
The door and window contact additionally alerts you if a door stays open for longer. Anyone wearing the Flex Pro 2 wristband is also protected by geofencing: when they leave a defined safe zone, an alert with GPS location is sent. An alarm does not replace supervision, but it shortens the time in which nobody knows anything.
Night-time restlessness is part of Module 3 of the assessment and is almost always underestimated, because nobody keeps records at three in the morning. Every alert is a dated entry.
Care-Assistant keeps the care diary digitally: entries in seconds, evaluation according to the six modules of the assessment, report as a PDF for the long-term care insurance fund and the Medical Service (MD).
